About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Director of Community Planning and Transportation, the Development Officer will play a key role in processing development applications, conducting site inspections, liaising with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with planning regulations for Fundy-St. Martins and the Fundy Rural District.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and approve permits, subdivisions, and zoning confirmations.

  • Conduct site visits and ensure compliance with regulations.

  • Provide guidance to landowners, developers, and municipal officials.

  • Investigate and enforce planning regulations, issuing compliance orders as needed.

  • Maintain accurate records and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field (administration, business, engineering, land use planning, etc.).

  • Minimum of two years of customer service experience.

  • Experience in land development and building inspection (asset).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.

  • Valid NB driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
