Notice: Fundy Regional Service Commission is currently looking for a Casual Heavy Equipment Operator II to join the team at Crane Mountain Landfill.

Responsibilities:

·        operating Commission owned heavy equipment

·      performing basic maintenance on equipment, i.e. following daily maintenance schedule, etc.

·      keeping records of daily activities as required

·      reporting any needed repairs to supervisor

·      operating equipment in a safe and courteous manner

·      obeying all Fundy Regional Service Commission health and safety, environmental, and employment policies

·      participation in any required training programs, including HEO 1 duties

·      working as a team player

Qualifications:

·       must be able to safely and efficiently operate the dozer, compactor and loader, owned by the Commission

·      Grade 12 or equivalent

·       Hold a Class 5 motor vehicle operator's license

·        Availability to work rotating shifts, potentially involving all seven days of the week according to service needs

·       Ability to work effectively within a team environment

·       Ability to work with minimum supervision

·        Required to wear any personal protective equipment necessary to perform the job Must be able to work in a difficult environment

Physical Abilities:

·      Continuous use of both hands and feet with dexterity

·      Good hand-eye coordination

·      Continuous use of both near and far vision

·      Frequent standing and walking, including over uneven or soft surfaces

·      Able to lift up to 40 lbs

·     Must be able to sustain continuous strenuous physical activity including bending, stooping and lifting

NOTE: Payrate for this position is $22.02/HR, comprised of a 40 plus hour work week, with 8% vacation/holiday pay
